Purpose and Record Sources
West Virginia has several custodians for records that can follow an arrest. The Greenbrier County Sheriff's Office may hold a sheriff-handled incident record, while Southern Regional Jail and Correctional Facility is the regional custody destination for many county commitments. The West Virginia Division of Corrections and Rehabilitation operates the public custody-search routes, and magistrate or circuit court records show what happened after booking. A municipal police department may hold a separate city report.
We bring those source distinctions, official links, and request paths together so a reader can ask the right custodian. A booking photograph may be made during intake, but that does not mean it appears in every public search. Court records and the creating agency remain the proper places to verify a charge, custody event, or later disposition.
